Course Descriptions
Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist™
Level 1
(CFST-I) 35 Contact Hours
This certification provides instruction & training in the basic concepts and techniques of Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST™). FST™ is an innovative, complete system of assessment, treatment and training of the neuromyofascia, otherwise known as the connective tissue system or simply called fascia.
Fitness and wellness clients will experience significantly increased flexibility, strength, neural reaction, lymph and blood flow in as little as 1 session. Medical patients will have better outcomes when FST is used alone as well as integrated with other treatments for a wide array of diseases and dysfunctions.
Regardless of background, all students must start with Level 1 training where one gets expertise in manipulating, re-organizing, re-aligning, re-educating and otherwise re-training the fascia. You will work through the layers, from the deepest joint capsule out to the superficial fascia and from the central core to the periphery of the head and limbs.
You will become proficient using FST as a full body treatment or training session as well as using it for short sessions and for specific indications.
Prerequisite: Working knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology.
Cost & Registration: see specific date on Event Calendar.
Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist™
Level 2
(CFST-2) 35 Contact Hours
This course provides training in the intermediate level concepts and techniques of Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST™). You will thoroughly learn how to use more specific micro and macro movements in spiral, diagonal and rotational patterns to greatly enhance your client's or patient's response to FST. In Level II training, you develop new refined skills at integrating more advanced FST technique in order to access the deeper recesses of the core fascial layer of tissue. These techniques enable you to progress your FST sessions for faster and more optimal results. However, when combined with complementary methods & techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue work, Structural Integration, Active Release Techniques®, acupuncture, Graston®, chiropractic or osteopathic manipulation and any other manual techniques, faster and better outcomes are guaranteed with Level 2 techniques and strategies.
Level 2 FST integrated with movement therapies like Pilates, Yoga, Gyrotonics as well as with strength and conditioning, balance, agility, speed and quickness training are pre-requisites for Fascial Fitness, a new paradigm for the future. Level 2 FST will take your movement therapy practice to a whole new level.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of CFST-1.
Cost & Registration: see specific date on Event Calendar.
Certified Fascial Stretch Specialist™
Level 3 - Fitness or Medical Track
(CFSS Level 3) 25 Contact Hours
The Medical Track is open to licensed healthcare practitioners, kinesiologists and medical therapists only and provides instruction in the more advanced concepts of Fascial Stretch Therapy™. The Fitness Track is open to all others who have successfully completed Level 2.
In the Medical Track we use medical terminology and indications associated with specific medical conditions for which patients are treated. Students should have a thorough familiarity with the stages of wound healing, inflammation, and classifications of common orthopedic and sports injuries and diagnoses.
In the Fitness track, we use assessments and training strategies to address advanced problems found in clients with medical or other conditions (e.g. scoliosis) that may challenge the Level 2 therapist in finding rapid and effective solutions to meet the goals of their clients.
This Level III workshop will take your clinical practice, expertise and confidence to a whole new level. Combining your existing skills with new fascial based differential diagnostic and assessment methods and condition specific FST™ protocols will provide the missing link in your current treatment and training regimen. After completing this course, you will be able to treat more complicated conditions & movement dysfunctions that elude other practitioners who do not have these advanced skills in evaluating and treating the connective tissue system. You will also be highly adept at rendering the most optimal, individualized FST session required of your clients. Critical thinking and successful implementation of effective FST treatment strategies will be the recurrent theme and focus at this level of study.
Certification requirements:
- 80% passing grade in written and practical exams.
- Submit 1 case studies one month before class begins.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of CFST-2.
Cost & Registration: see specific date on Event Calendar.
