Pilates for Dancers
Any dancer who has gone to traditional Pilates class knows that it is not enough for their unique needs and abilities. Fortunately former professional dancer and Pilates instructor Crystal Bartos understands this and applies advanced training to dancers in order to help them achieve their goals.
Not only do dancers need superior core strength, balance and control but they also need to properly activate their core in harmony with the rest of their body with synchronous breath control. Dancers have to accomplish this utilizing progressive dance movement peculiar to their technique or they will not achieve their goals of dancing to their fullest potential.
Pilates to rehabilitate dance injuries will be supervised and coordinated by former professional dancer Chris Frederick, director of dance physical therapy at the Center.
