Adhesive capsulitis - advanced stretches and mobilization

May 07, 2025

Question: I’ve been working on a shoulder in the freezing stage and have improved shoulder flexion from 100 degrees to 155-160 degrees but have reached a plateau. I‘ve being doing a lot of traction, circumdunction, scapular mobs, sidely and prone Level 2 techniques, subscapularis release, neck work , but feel like I’ve hit a wall. Does anyone have tips getting those last 20 degrees?

Answer: watch brief video for several exercises that focus on closed kinetic chain movements, as they typically are left out of home programs for a "frozen shoulder". Keep in mind that these are advanced and for clients in the mostly stiff not painful phase.
